Business Recognition Program

To Whom It May Concern:

On behalf of the Valley CAN "Clean Air Now" Board of Directors, I am writing to encourage your participation in our new Business Recognition Program. This program will promote and build public awareness of the current and ongoing achievements of Valley businesses in cleaning the air. The goal of the program is to inspire and motivate others to proactively engage and invest in voluntary actions that result in solutions to further improve the Valley's air. By telling our community of these accomplishments, we hope to have set examples for many to follow.

By citing actions rather than words, Valley CAN's Business Recognition Program will highlight and underscore the commitment of business leaders to building a better future for their communities.

The attached information will tell you how your company can be part of our effort to identify and recognize businesses that voluntarily have developed and implemented new technologies, approaches and methods to enhance the quality of life in the Valley by reducing air pollution.

Business Recognition Program

Program Description
Valley CAN will identify and recognize businesses that voluntarily have developed and implemented new technologies, approaches and methods to enhance the quality of life in the Valley by reducing air emissions. By promoting these achievements and building awareness, Valley CAN will seek to inspire and motivate others to engage and invest in similar voluntary actions that result in solutions to further improve the Valley's air now.

Valley CAN will raise public awareness and understanding of existing and planned efforts on the part of business and industry to directly address the Valley's air quality problem.

Goals
The Valley CAN Business Program will position business and industry as leaders in producing proactive solutions to air quality by:

  • Identifying and recognizing businesses that already are proactive in cleaning up the Valley's air;
  • Encourage businesses to engage their employees in voluntary air reduction practices;
  • Heighten the public's awareness of existing and planned voluntary business actions; and
  • Motivate and inspire others to emulate these businesses and take action of their own.

Recognition
Businesses that participate in the program will be recognized by Valley CAN in the following manners:

  • Valley CAN will place periodic ads in local newspapers and/or business journals recognizing those businesses, thanking them for their contribution and urging others to get involved.
  • Participating businesses will receive a static decal to place in a window at their business or automobile in support of Valley CAN and promote the Business CAN. You CAN. Valley CAN concept.
  • A resolution from the Board of Directors recognizing the business' contributions to improving the air in the San Joaquin Valley.
  • Future opportunities of endorsement and name placement in Valley CAN materials related to business participation in cleaning the air.
